a lot more scriptures out there than the 66 books of the Protestant
bible. A lot more. Here's a complete listing of all the
books, with where they stand importance wise. Primary-The 66 books of the Protestant Bible Secondary-Books seen by other Christian churches as canon Tertiary-Books thrown out by all churches for various reasons Historical Only-Books that are proven to be complete forgeries of possible real documents. List of scriptures The Weekend Church view is that the 66 books of the Protestant Bible are sufficient for getting the teaching across, as most removed texts come from the Old Testament which served to lead up to and predict the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. |
There
are many books that are no longer considered to be canon. Who
decided this canon? Not the apostles. Many of the Old and
New Testament books reference many of the no longer canonized books.
The canons of the churches were either decided by the churches
themselves or by the Council of Trent, or through the Protestant tests
for canonocity. Many books were removed because authorship could
not be proven or was impossible. -Samuel England |
